Solar Battery Storage Across South-East Melbourne

Based in Mornington, Ocean View Solar installs home and commercial battery storage across South-East Melbourne, from South Yarra and Bayside to Sorrento and the Dandenong Ranges. Store daytime solar for night use and keep essential circuits running during blackouts.

A battery turns the solar you already generate into evening power, cutting the amount you buy back from the grid at peak rates and adding blackout backup.

How battery storage works with your solar

During the day your panels power the home and charge the battery; in the evening the battery discharges instead of you buying grid power. Ocean View Solar sizes the battery to your evening usage so you store and use as much of your own solar as possible.

  • Store excess daytime solar for evening and overnight use
  • Backup power for essential circuits during outages
  • Works with new solar or retrofits to most existing systems
  • App monitoring of charge, usage and savings

The federal battery rebate

The Australian Government's Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which began on 1 July 2025, discounts the upfront cost of an installed home battery by roughly 30%. Ocean View Solar applies the eligible discount directly to your quote so you see the reduced price.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a home battery worth it in Victoria?

A home battery may be worthwhile when you have solar, use a lot of power in the evening, and want backup during outages. It lets you use stored solar instead of buying peak-rate grid power. Ocean View Solar can model your specific savings before you commit.

How much does a solar battery cost after the rebate?

After the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program discount of roughly 30%, a home battery costs meaningfully less than its full list price, with the exact amount depending on battery size and brand. Ocean View Solar shows the discounted price in your written quote. Rebate figures change, so call 0450 676 112 for the current amount.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar system?

Yes — Ocean View Solar retrofits batteries to many existing solar systems across its service area, with the setup depending on your current inverter. During the assessment we confirm compatibility and recommend a suitable way to add storage.

Will a battery keep my power on during a blackout?

Yes, when configured for backup, a battery installed by Ocean View Solar keeps nominated essential circuits running during a grid outage. The number of circuits and run time depend on the battery size and your usage, which Ocean View Solar sizes to your needs during the design stage.
